Q: Should a buy a 2004 Chevy Venture?
I want a van...and am trading in my buick century (granny car) for a van. I'm looking at a 2004 Chevy Venture with 56000 miles on it. What are these vans like? I'm just wondering if its silly to buy something with that many miles on it already. They also have a chrysler voyager for the same price as the venture...but the voyager has 88000 miles on it. how many more years would it have left??? any advice is appreciated. by the way...dont tell me to buy new. I cant afford new. this is a second car...just want something used, but reliable!

Q: 2004 chevy venture blown head gasket or not help?
Ok our van was heating up we replaced the thermostat and flushed the radiator. Worked for a while and then started to heat up again. We took it to a repair shop they ran a block test and told us its a blown head gasket and it would cost 2200.00 to fix. Now everyone I talk to ask if it smokes...No not at all.....if there is water coming out of exhauast....no....is the oil milky...no the only thing it does is spit out the antifreeze. Could this be a wrong dianoses? If it is a blown head gasket why is it 2200 to fix. I just buried my daughter 7 months ago so all the money I had saved is gone and I can not afford the repair. Is their anything else I can do to fix this? Any help or opions appreciated...Thank you for yalls time.
also is there something called liquid glass that you can put in it? I think thats what its called something glass.
A: If it's a blown gasket it's probably blown on #1 cylinder, the one right below the alternator. I've done many of these and that's the only cyl. I've ever seen blown. I'm assuming it's a 3.1 or 3.4 engine. The timing cover gaskets also tend to leak right next to the head near that same number 1 cylinder. That is a far easier fix and way cheaper. Like 90 or so dollars total.(the parts are $10) Borrow a pressure tester from the local Autozone and pressure up the cooling system, then look for water leaks. If it is indeed a blown head gasket, it should only cost about 7 or 8 hundred bucks to have the repair done; look for a different shop.
Q: How r glove box doors held on?
I have a 2004 chevy venture and the glove box door came off. I dont see pinns or anywhere to put it back on it does have like a lip. Does anybody know.
no there is no screws to hold it on trust me i looked. I am not a dumbass.
A: Strange things called screws. Been around for 2000 years. Bolts to a rotating hinge.
Q: My van sliding doors freeze shut all the time, does anyone know of a product to prevent this from happening?
I have a 2004 Chevy Venture and my sliding doors always freeze shut. Even when I warm my van up the sliding doors take forever to open. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!
A: They all have good ideas but try to stay away from petroleum products (vasoline). Use a silicone based product so it doesnt hurt the rubber. you can also wax the paint on the door jamb where the rubber sits and put armor all on the rubber. This will collect much less dust. Armor all is better than STP, I kow from years of use
Q: No base for baby car seat?
The car seat I have is a 3 in 1 and when it was used for my 1st son I had to remove the base with the cup holder to fit in my car. I was told that was fine and we have sinced bought a minivan where a car seat is built in so he uses that now. My 2nd son is still rear facing in an infant car seat but will be moving to a bigger rear facing car seat soon and that was the one my 1st son used. Now, I can't find the base to this car seat and was wondering if it's okay to use it without the base in a bigger vehicle? Do you think it will fit okay for a 2004 Chevy Venture Minivan?
A: I have two 3 in 1 seats one forward facing without the base since the base was so big it was covering the seat belts of the seats on ether side. The other is rear facing without the base because the seat installed better without it. We have a 2000 Chevy Venture
Q: Chrysler T&C Recalls?
I had a chevy venture, and when the camshaft broke, I went and got a great 2004 chrysler town and country from carmax. I just read there were some recalls. Should i have it checked? or should i trust the person that owned it before me to of took it in?
A: Call your local Chrysler Dodge or Jeep dealer service department and give them your VIN number and have them run it to see if there are any open recalls on it.
They will tell you if there are any that have not yet been performed on it. Always do this when buying used vehicle, sometimes owners don't take it in for recalls, or don't get the recall notices if they've moved or whatever. Best to make sure.
