Q: Heater problems with a 2002 Chevy Venture - Sometimes it blows cold air and sometimes it works fine?
When I am in start and stop conditions the heater blows cold air. When I am in a period of full acceleration the heater works fine. Another peculiar thing is that when the heater 'activates' or starts to blow hot air, I smell something through the vents for a brief period of time (less than a second or two).
Has anyone seen this and have any ideas what the problem may be?
A: i own a repair shop,and what its doing is probably it has gotten low on coolant and its not circulating real good,check this and if needed add coolant ,i think that will give you your heater back on it,good luck,i hope this help,s.
Q: Seat belt replacement in 2002 Chevy Venture.?
I need to replace the seat belts in my 2002 Chevy Venture. I found the parts. My question is: Is the retractor assembly wired to the airbags? Do I need to disable the system during installation? I don't want to set off the airbags and cause myself a whole other set of problems.
A: Depends on which seat belts. The ones for the front seats have sensors for the airbags, but the rear ones do not. Best thing to do is to disconnect the negative battery terminal, wait about a minute, then you can begin the replacement procedure.
Q: 2002 Chevy venture van with a heater blower that only works on low, what's going on?
when turn it to high, nothing happens. had this happen on my dodge durango, and garage replaced some part of the heater system in no time and was working fine after. can't afford to go to garage this time, so does anyone have any d.i.y. advice? what is malfunctioning and how do i fix it? have good mechanical skills, but just inexperienced and perplexed in this area because don't know heater-systems. thanks for your help.
A: Pull the blower motor connecter and check for voltage in high blower mode. If no voltage it could be the resister blower speed module or a bad switch.If you have voltage ,buy a new blower motor.

It's not the oil, the coolant, or the transmission fluid. Does anyone know what else I should look for and how?
A: take it to the auto parts store. They have a OBD gauge they can check it with.

Q: problem starting 2002 chevy venture ?
I had just purchased a 2002 chevy venture wheelchair van it only has 64000 kms. the previous owner never had any problems with the van, I just brought the van home and it started and ran fine but now that it is home it had to be boosted to start. Once boosted it ran fine again but would not start after sitting for more than 2 hrs. i do live where it is very cold but the van is always plugged in. i just replaced the battery and am still having the same problem the van has to be boosted to start any advice before i take it in again. One other thing when i try to start the van the lights and radio and fan still come on it just will not start.
A: The starter itself could be failing. You need to check and clean all connections to include the starter before replacing anything else. I hope you put the proper battery in it and not the cheapest thing the parts store had. Without enough CCA(cold cranking amps) there is no way that it will be able to start the van. Lastly be sure nothing is staying on after you shut the vehicle off. It may have a short that is draining the battery. After letting it set for two hours put a voltmeter on the battery terminals and see how many volts it is holding.

Removal Procedure
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
Remove the right side I/P insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
Push the release tab on the bottom of the bracket to release the body control module (BCM).
Slide the BCM from the bracket.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Installation Procedure
Connect the electrical connectors to the BCM.
Align the tabs on the BCM with the slots in the mounting bracket. Push the BCM up until the module clicks into place.
Install the right side I/P insulator. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.
Setup the BCM customized options.
Q: is there a way to turn off the automatic head/tailights for a 2002 chevy venture?
its annoying to have them on while the car is running when i know im not going anywhere for awhile

The passenger window of my wife's '02 Chevy Venture went out today. Does go down with the driver's side switch and the passenger switch. It goes down but not up on either. I've got the inside trim panel off to manually lift and raise the window.
I have put a new motor in it.......goes down fine. No response when I go to raise the window
A: bought a motor too soon...the driver's master switch is the culprit. it also controls power to the pass switch. replaced a bunch. you can jumper wire the plug end, but it's too hard for me to explain in a nutshell.works on reverse polarity,if you understand that

I am sorry, that is "Doesn't go down with the driver's side switch"...That was a bad mistype!
A: If it works from the driver's side, then its obviously the switch. If you have the manual, it should tell exactly how to replace it. They're not that hard to do.

it has 80,000km on the odemeter is this the valves is there a product that can quite them , i am running with 5w30 synthetic oil and i change it quite often ,also when i removed the oil additive cover there was a bit of gunk stuch to this cover...
