Q: Will a 1998 Chevy Venture wheel fit a 1991 Chevy Lumina?
Both wheels are 15", but the car is a good ways away from here to compare the two. I am going to buy a used wheel and was hoping to use the Venture as a reference.
A: Should bolt right on. The Venture is basically a newer version of the Lumina. Any tire shop should be able to verify it. Give them a call.
Q: Is there any way to get around buying a new fuel pump for my 1998 Chevy Venture?
We drained the gas tank and got the fuel pump out. There is a plug wire inside that is broke. Is there anything I can do to save $399 to get a new fuel pump? I hope this question makes sense. Help!
A: If I understand your question, a plug connector at or near the pump is broken. So it's possible the pump is OK? Yes, faulty electrical connectors and broken wires can be fixed, but to make such a repair inside a fuel tank? NO competent Tech will want that liability. And done incorrectly could lead to a fire/explosion.
Q: why do I have to pump the gas pedal to start my 1998 chevy venture?
A: This engine is fuel injected. This means that the throttle is only an air valve and does not regulate fuel directly. Use Gum-out spray to clean your throttle body and idle air control valve. Think of your pedal as an "air" pedal (which it is) and NOT a gas pedal. Pumping it, only affects the amount of AIR mixing with the fuel, which is pre-determined. You may have a bad sensor or flaky wiring harness. Power wash your engine bay to get a better look at things. The most common problem with these cars is a leaking intake manifold gasket. You might be sucking in coolant when this thing tries to power up. Good Luck!!
Q: Were do I find the thermostat for a 1998 Chevy venture???
A: K It's in the muffler bearing, underneath.
Q: 1998 Chevy Venture Heater?
Where would I start checking to find why the heater doesn't work? The Blower motor doesn't spin at all. I think it might be the switch. Is there a way to take the dash apart without breaking it?
Fuses are good.
Which relay would it be? Sorry it's not my van and I don't usually work on newer things. Give me a 20 yr old truck over a new mini van anyday
Blower won't work on any setting
A: Turn your fan speed on high, #5 I believe. If it starts blowing air then your blower motor resistor is gone.Very common with the Venture vans.Dealer item.
Q: 1998 chevy Venture problems?
what are the most common problems.i have a check engine light on and the code came up as a air leak (but she does not idle high)and i tried spraying the air box and the rest of the engine down with a carburetor cleaner.(witch makes the engine idle higher) and she does not rev in the least bit.
A: I believe that you are reading that code to litterally.
Air has to be an abbreviation, not a word?

Q: what is the different betwn 1998 Vs 2000 gm Venture 3.4L 3400 engine ? Are all the 3.4L (207) interchangable?
I plan on removing and replacing 3.4L 3400 engine our of my 98 chevy venture. What is the differents between the 1997 to 2003 3.4L(207) engine?
Is there one engine that had more hp? Chevy Monte carlo SS?
Can any one suggest a 3.4L Forums site?
Thank you in advance.
A: From 1997-2004 the motor was unchanged in the Venture. (180 HP)
However, the 3.4 motor from 91-96 is quite different.
03-05 Monte SS has a 3.8L V6 (200 HP)
04-05 Monte SS Supercharged has a 3.8L V6 (Supercharged) (240 HP)
06-07 Monte SS has a 5.3L V8 (303 HP)
Q: Why does my oil pressure light come on when I turn off my ignition?
I have a 1998 Chevy Venture van, and I just had an oil change at the dealer. The oil pressure light is not on when the van is running but comes on as soon as I turn off the vehicle. I have tried tricks like turning on the ignition and pumping the gas etc., as suggested, but this did not clear the light.
10 points best answer!
Thanks :)
How do I turn it off?
A: Because when the compression drops so does the oil pressure and as a result the warning light comes on......but since the engine is not running it isn't a problem.
I have a Fiat that does exactly the same thing....don't worry about it.
Q: Can I save gas by shutting off my car while in line?
If so, how long shall I wait before doing so? I have a 1998 Chevy Venture Minivan with 6 cyl.
A: What you save will be minimal at best. Most cars WASTE the most fuel on start up of the vehicle. The claim is if you are going to be in the same spot for over 2 minutes, it will save you gas to shut off the engine, otherwise you won't be benefiting in any way and there won't be any environmental advantage either.
Q: I've heard there is an online system here to get used car parts. Where is it?
I'm looking for a passenger side rear tail light for my 1998 Chevy Venture.
A: Not here.
Q: how to fix heat in my van?
I have a 1998 Chevy Venture, and when i got the van used the man said it takes a long time for the van to heat up. We had it for 3 months and the heat started out fine and then gradually over time the air blew cooler and cooler, til now it just blows cold and i can't defrost my windows when it's cold and i can't see, what is the problem?
A: Either the water level is low, or you have a partially clogged up heater core (this does happen) or a bad heater control valve. It could also be a vacuum problem, not letting the plenum doors operate properly. You should let a reputable mechanic give you a diagnosis and estimate. Get 2 or 3 of these from different places and compare them before you commit to having it fixed. That way you will have a better idea what the problem actually is.
Q: Unusual car alarm problem?
My mom drives a 1998 Chevy Venture and for the past couple weeks, at various times throughout the day, the car alarm will go off. It will honk about 3 to 5 times and then stop. Any idea what could be causing this?
A: It could be a weak car battery. Have it checked. It could be wind, big trucks passing or a loud boom stereo passing.
