Q: Tires for a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer LS 2WD?
my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer LS still has the factory tires on it size 235/75-16.
I would like to put wider tires on it and was wondering what is the widest size I could get without causing any problems.
Could i get 235/60-16s?
Thanks!
A: 235 is the nominal section width in millimeters - 235/60 tires are the same width as 235/75 tires.
60 and 75 are the aspect ratio - the ratio of the sidewall height to the section width. 235 x 0.75 is the height of the sidewall.
16 is the diameter of the wheels in inches.
Overall diameter is 2x (235 x 0.75) millimeter + 16 inches -> you need to convert to consistent units.
235/60-16 tires would fit, they would lower the vehicle by 35mm. You would need to run significantly higher air pressures because 235/60 tires are rated for less weight than 235/75 tires.
See tire rack for some tire / wheel options - Chevy offered 245/65-17 tires.

245/70-16 tires would fit with no issues on your present wheels.
255/65-16 tires would most likely fit.
Q: First time used car buyer. do you think 11,900 excluding taxes is a fair deal for a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer?
with under 50000 miles on it? Worth the money or not worth the money. Am i not looking at a comparable car? your thoughts fine folks.
A: It depends on the model, options and overall condition of the drivetrain, interior and exterior. Is it an LS or an LT? If it's an LT does it have the 1LT, 2LT or 3LT package? Are there service records for it? Any dents or paint issues? Has it been in an accident? Is the interior clean and not worn, torn or frayed anywhere?
There's a lot that determines what a vehicle is worth. If you supply that info, it would be easier to determine if it's a good deal. And it would be a huge benefit to you, too, to know all these things about a car you're interested in.
Q: how much does it cost to change a water pump on a 2005 chevy trailblazer?
A: here you go Heather, If you have the 5.3 liter engine, the price for the new pump, $$96.89 Labor would be 3.8 hours to replace. Most shops charge from $ 60-80 per hour. Dealers More. If you have a 4.3 liter engine, Part is $65.00 labor would be 3.3 hours. So it should cost about $362.89 plus tax for the 5.3 engine & $296.00 plus tax for the 4.3 engine. the 5.3 is a V-8 and 4.3 is a V-6 . You and find your engine size , if you do not know if it is a 6 or 8 cyl. by looking at the small white sticker under the hood compartment. I hope this will give you a better idea. Good Luck! :)
Q: Do all 2005 Chevy Trailblazers have power door mirrors?
Do all 2005 Chevy Trailblazers have power door mirrors? If so, where is the internal control for them?
A: Yes, Most do I don't remember ever seeing a Manual mirror option.
The controls for the drivers side is in the Drivers door module which is the Window control. The passenger side is controlled by the FPDM
or front passenger door module. You will need to take it to a dealer
for service as you will need a tech2 scan tool to diagnose these
modules and you will need TIS2Web to program them. The option code on your RPO should be DK2.
Q: My 2005 Chevy Trailblazer makes a whining sound. ?
My Chevy Trailblazer makes a loud whining sound when I crank it up and as I drive. What could it be? It's very loud and annoying. It has a 4.2L I-6 engine, hope that helps.
A: I,m 100% sure its your idler pulley its mounted between alt and a/c compressor
Q: i have a 2005 chevy trailblazer and am having trouble taking out the old headlight, i get to it but it is stuk?
A: Is it stuck, or is it held in by clips that you can't see very well? Some headlamp bulbs are held in by expanding spring clips. Look for a couple of little metal ears close to the headlamp. If you find a couple of ears to squeeze together, do that while gently pulling them away from the headlamp base. Maybe that's all you need.
I spent a sweaty, angry half-hour under the hood of the car trying to figure mine out one afternoon. You couldn't force the various manufacturers to all adopt one system at the point of a gun.
Q: I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer that is making a wining noise when cranked up? Could this be a bad alternator
My dad told me he thought that is what it was. Trying to get by without taking it in to the shop. It is under warranty but trying to avoid taking up the time.
A: TAKE THE TIME OR YOU MAY BE TAKING THE BUS. if it's under a warranty, let them fix it.
Q: Will 23" rims from a 2002 Cadillac Escalade fit on my 2005 Chevy Trailblazer?
A: nope, the bolt pattern is different. sorry
Q: 2005 Chevy TrailBlazer Check engine light on but can't hear or feel any problems.?
We tried checking to make sure that the gas cap was on properly, but the light did not go out so I assume that was not the problem. What could the problem be, and how much could it cost? I have seen some people talk about the secondary air pump, what is that, and could it be my problem?
A: check engine lights are almost always exhaust/evap related this could be anything from an O2 sensor to your gas cap. Most faults will not reset on there own so if your cap was the issue and you fixed it the light will not extinguish, it must be reset usuing a code reader (autozone/pepboys) most retailers will do this for free.
Also some Trailblazers are covered under a recall that affects the gasket on the fuel tank if your truck is included and affected by this faulty gasket your truck will give you a minor/major evap leak code when scanned. call or visit your local chevy dealer to find out if your truck is included in the recall
Q: I have 2005 chevy trailblazer under the hood is a plug looks like standard extension cord. what is it for?
A: Engine block heater for cold winter days. Keeps the oil viscosity low so you do not run the engine too long to warm it up so the oil will flow.
Q: need instructions to install cd on 2005 Chevy Trailblazer?
If you have any pictures, please send. Thanks
A: this ones easy....there's two ways. 1: get a power harness from an electrinics dealer and wire it up. one side will need to be wired to the wires coming out of the back of you stereo, the other end will have a plug that will connect to the factory plug inside your dash.
2: get a volt meter, cut off factory plug inside dash, and use meter to find your accessory hot, (ACC, meaning key in ignition and vehicle electrial system on), battery (hot at all times) and ground. ground is usually solid black, solid green (earth in British) or brown. now you have to figure out which wires go to which speakers. using the volt meter, check each pair of wires using the meter's continuity setting. when you get the same pair of wires going to the same speaker, you will hear (very quietly) the speaker responding to your taps. wire these to the stereo. the second method is more difficult to explain, easier to show. the first method is more expensive but also should not void manufacture's warrenty.
