Q: The dash and outside marker lights stay on when I turn off my 2000 Chevy Tracker!!?
This all started soon after I had to jump start it on a very cold morning. I'm almost positive it is not a short or having anything to do with the alternator. It is charging everything just fine. Somebody told me it may be a light relay that was damaged due to the cold weather jump(it took quite a few tries) Where would this relay be located and can I tell if its bad by looking at it? (If I do Find It!)
A: Open the hood.
Look to the right (drivers side)
There is a box marked "Fuses/Relays" or something like that.
Find the little latches on the side of it.
open it.
Inside, it should indicate what fuses and relays control what..
Simply looking at them won't help.
However, you may be able to swap one out with another to determine if one is bad or not.
Q: 2000 Chevy Tracker fuse box?
I need to replace a fuse in my Tracker and I can't find the interior fuse box. It doesn't appear to be in the location shown in the photo in my owner's manual. It's supposed to be under the dimmer wheel and next to the hood release, and there's only a flat panel there - no fuse box lid cover. Anyone know where else I might look? Or do I need to take the whole front panel off to get to the fuses?

A: it is under the truck on the gas line it is a cylinder looking thing it has a bolt on each end and it shold be in the middle or near the gas tank
Removal & Installation
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
Relieve fuel system pressure.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cable Fuel lines from the fuel filter Fuel filter
To install:
Install or connect the following:
Fuel filter and tighten the bracket bolt. Note the fuel flow directional arrow. Fuel lines to the fuel filter. Negative battery cable
Start the engine and inspect the fuel filter connections for leaks.

it like it heats up gauge won;t show it buit if i let it sit for a while it starts back up
A: take it and have the computer scanned on it,that's the first thing you do with the newer vehicles when their giving a problem,usually the computer will give a trouble code,other wise all your doing is guessing at what to repair on it,you might want to check or replace the gas filter that will cause it to die like that ,but have the scan done ,its very helpful in knowing whats wrong with today's vehicles,also look in your maintenance records,and see when the last time it was you tuned it up,it may be due a set of plugs ,basically a minor tune up may help it,also be sure and check the idle air control valve on it,they wont idle good if this gets clogged up,good luck with it.

A: If the pulley is bolted solid through the center, it is an idler pulley. If it is mounted on a spring loaded arm it is the tensioner pulley.
O'Reilly Auto Parts list the tensioner pulley as an assembly, or just the pulley. Number for the assembly is Gates 38156, $80.99, and for the pulley alone is Gates 38010 ,$19.99.
Q: how to change the doorhandle inside passangerside of chevy tracker 2000?
A: It might be as easy as removing a screw behind the handle and pulling out. There will be a plastic snap on the handle that connects to the latch so try not to break it. Otherwise you might have to remove door trim by finding all the screws and removing, then with a screwdriver pry out the little snap-ins to remove fully, they will pop back in later. Disconnect wiring and then you will have full access to handle and lever.

A: check your fuel filter first or if you replace the fuel pump replace the fuel filter. My corolla had a bad fuel pump and basically the electric starter just keeps cranking but the car will not start. Go to autozone website and check in their troubleshooting link and select your vehicle and you can break it down by major category like fuel system. This is how I tested\replaced my fuel pump. Also, there is a way you can short the fuse for the fuel pump alone to test it. You will find it at autozone's website.
