Q: Car shakes on idle?
i have a 1999 chevy tracker 4 cylinder engine and automatic trans. it has 89k miles. when starting the car i notice that it does happen to shake. when the rpm is lower than 1000 its trembles alot that the muffler even starts to shake. what could be the probelm? could it be costly? because the car runs as if it was brand new.
A: Most of the time a rough idle can be resolved by replacing a few necessary things such as: Air Filter, PCV Valve, and Spark Plugs... Sometimes, the Idle Air Control Valve gets trashed up with carbon which inhibits it from allowing the required air to enter the intake manifold thus causing a rough idle. The Idle Air Control Valve is expensive for you vehicle as you will see below but a mechanic can take it off and clean it and sometimes that will solve your problem without having to replace it. I work for NAPA Auto Parts.. I am providing a parts list with NAPA prices bleow...
Idle Air Control Valve- 216795 $429.19
PCV Valve- (if you have 2.0L) 29348 $5.99
(if you have 1.6L) 29374 $12.99
Air Filter- 6195 $21.49
AC Delco Spark Plugs- 41602 $2.49/ per plug
Q: Good cheap car?
So I'm a 16 year old girl and I'm looking to buy a car. I love driving our family's mini van since I'm 5'1" it's nice to be up high [I can actually see over the wheel!] so I thought about getting a very small SUV like a Chevy Tracker or Grand Viatra.
So far I've found:
-2000 Tracker, 85k miles, $3999
-1999 Suzuki Grand Vitara, 134k miles, $2495
And I've also found a 1996 Ford Taurus with leather seats and sunroof, 79k miles, $2000 but I don't like that it's down low. And I really like the look of those two SUVs, not so much the Taurus.
Which of these cars do you recommend? Do the two SUVs have too much mileage on them? Are they good deals? Reliable? Good brakes? etc.
What are some other tiny SUVs or higher-up tinier cars in general? I need to pay for it on my own so it has to be under $4000, open to any suggestions!
A: The tracker is a much better SUV than the Vitara. they are very dependable but if u can try to talk the seller to a lower price even if they dont it is a good price for the miles. It actually has low miles compared to others
