Q: What are the biggest tires or wheel and tire combinations to fit on a 2000 Chevy Tracker?
I just need a little extra ground clearance but i don't want to do a lift or coil spring spacers, so I am wondering what the biggest tires or tire and wheel combination that i can put on a stock 2000 Chevy Tracker. Preferably i would just like to do a larger tire if possible.

Q: I have a Chevy Tracker that won't start. Can anyone help?
I have a Chevy Tracker and it won't start. Even without the key in the ignition it makes a clicking noise, then whenever I try to start it, it doesn't even attempt to turn over. I can't even put it into neutral to push it. Any idea of what could be wrong and how to fix it?

In my 2003 tracker my horn is not working and my airbag light stays on can anyone help? I have changed the fueses and changed the cock springand the relay so can anyone tell me what it is to fix it.
A: sounds like the contacts in the steering column are bad, most likely just need to be cleaned, but if your going to do it, be mindful of the air bag.
Q: I have a 99 chevy tracker and the speedometer quit working?
Everyone is telling me that a fuse has blown but I can't find it. Can someone post a link where it show/tells which fuse it is? Don't know if its under the hood, inside fuse panel, or a relay?
A: The problem is in the ECM computer. Go to AUTOZONE.COM and type in the info. and they will tell you everything, and the location of all the compotents. Don't loose that website, it is a mechanic's bible.

Q: Where is the flasher unit located in a 2001 Chevy Tracker?
My right front blinker light was out so I replaced the light bulb but it still blinks fast. The one I replaced works now but it blinks fast just like the back one and when the headlights come on the right front blinker comes on and stays on. I'm sure the flasher unit is the problem but I can't find it to replace it.

I want to pull a pop-up trailer, and I know the hitch will work, but I needd to know if the car itself will pull it.
A: Richard has your answer. I just want to add. You MIGHT find towing capacity on the metal plate you'll find when you open the drivers door.
You will still have to consider any weight you have added and tongue weight on hitch is very important. Do your home work before you hitch up. I know someone who didn't and they were on the freeway and their trailer passed them on the left. It became, "an out of body experience" for that person.

A: It should be a serpentine belt and there should also be a diagram on your radiator or on the support bracket.

Q: What are the best spark plugs for my '01 Chevy Tracker?
I have a 2001 Chevy Tracker 2WD 2.0L 4cyl and I've been using Bosch platinum2 plugs and they're ok, I just want whatever is best.
Why does everyone recommend OEM plugs? Also, it's probably worth noting that the Engine is made by Suzuki.
A: if it's stock, i'd probably stick with oem, which would be ac delco (platinum, if not iridium). typically, you can go 60-80K on platinum plugs if everything else is up to par.
Q: How do you remove rear brake drum on 98 "chevy" tracker?

A: When you find the oblong rubber grommet pry it out with a screwdriver. If you can see inside the empty hole you can visualize a "star adjusting wheel" for the brake shoes. It's easiest if you go to an auto parts store and buy an inexpensive "brake drum adjusting spoon". To (release) the tension on the shoes the adjusting (star) wheel inside the backing plate turns counter clockwise on the left rear wheel) right hand thread and clockwise (left hand thread) on the right rear (star) wheel.
Bare in mind the drums may be rusted on the ends of the axles. In that case spray some Blaster rust solvent around the center hub and through the lug nut holes. Let the drums sit an hour. Tap on the outer face near the edges and straight down as close to the outer hub face. Never pound down on the inside of the drum. It's OK to very carefully tap on the inside edge of the drum straight outward.
If you can't get them loose your only recourse is to find a shop that can heat the inner faces of the drums with an acetylene/ oxygen torch to pop them loose.

Q: Does the timing belt on my 03 Chevy Tracker require repacement?
I never heard of one not requiring it, but the manual doesn't say so-- It does call for repalacement of an "engine accessory drive belt" at 120K. Is that the same thing?
A: there should be a cover or gaurd around the belt you can remove to examin it they are notched and guides so they very seldom jump timing the belts do stretch they will sometimes even make a noise when you rappedly excelerate in neutral and let off the gas but examine it for weather cracks it is alot easer to change them before they break but mainly look for how much they slack up when you rap on the gas or fluxuate
