I have this 2001 SUV CHEVY TAHOE and now Im getting a flickering on and off message stating to ( change oil soon) when in fact the oil was changed about a month ago. why is it doing this.
A: No one reset the maintenance reminder.
Turn the key to the "ON" position, but do NOT start the engine.
Depress the accelerator to the floor 3 times within 15 seconds. Your "change oil soon" light should flash & then go out.
The maintenance reminder is now reset.
Q: I have a 2001 chevy tahoe and my engine light turn on.?
I have a 2001 chevy tahoe and my service engine soon light turned on and it said this:( PO332 Knock sensor 2 circuit low input bank 2 ). I had it scanned on my OBD II SCANNER and that what it said then I reset the code and the light turned off and has not been on yet. so is it safe to drive let me know.
A: There was a design problem with the valley pans under the intake plenum where water would get trapped under the plenum and get into the rear knock sensor port at the rear of the valley pan. The fix was to remove the intake plenum to access the sensors, clear the water from the port, replace the #2 sensor and build a "dam" of silicone at the front of the sensor port so that the water would be directed around the port instead of into it.
The second generation engines had a redesigned valley pan that prevented water from getting into the port.
The light will eventually come back on unless the water is cleared from the port, it is just a matter of when.
Q: How do I find out how much my 2001 Chevy Tahoe is worth having a salvage title?
My tahoe has 89,000 miles on it and we are wanting to sell it, but don't know how much it is worth. I went to KBB.com but it does not tell you the value of salvage titled vehicles.

I dont know what kind of rims and size i should put my truck on.
A: 22 or 24 looks the best in my opinion. go too big and you gotta roll or cut fenders which can ruin the look of your suv. and the kind of rims really only depends on what you like with the color of the truck and body style.

Q: Best stereo upgrade for 2001 Chevy Tahoe?
My 2001 Tahoe has the factory Delco stereo, with the 4 cheap factory speakers installed (not the BOSE version). I think the stereo unit is sufficient for now (Stereo/CD/Tape), but I would like to upgrade the speakers to make it sound better, and perhaps add a small subwoofer.
What speakers/system are both reasonably affordable and offer better sound than the stock setup?

When Temp is about 45 degrees F or below, engine makes a knocking noise for a while then stops. I don't have this problem when the weather is warm. It doesn't seem serious but I'd rather get in front of the problem rather than have my engine break down. Thanks for your input
A: It's actually common on the GM motors, there is too much play between piston and cylinder. the piston expands when warm and then all is good and tight. GM calls this normal, that sounds like a long time, not much you can do. Do your oil changes regularly and hope it doesn't get worst.

My 2001 Tahoe recntly had the service autoride light come on. It has since gone off, but when I took it to a local repair shop they said all four shocks were bad. Need to replace all of them. Seems strange that all four would go at once. Is there a relay, compurter chip or something else that might be wrong? Shop tells me it's $500 PER SHOCK!! HELP!!
A: This is one of the few times you leave the local shop and hit the dealer for a second opinion. Probably a fuse or sensor.
Parts, by the way, if the shocks need to be replaced run $30 to $50

A: Depending on what you got done, they could have left wires disconnected or the vacumm hose not properly installed on accident. Take it back to them, and let them have a look because generally if it could be their fault, they'll give you a free diagnostic. If you want to figure it out yourself, then get a OBD II Reader, they are about 100 bucks at a auto store and will be handy to have because you can do your own diagnostic checks! You also may have a friend who has one as well! It could be something as simple as a cool temp sensor, or even 02 sensors! But it could be something big too!
