A: Fix the wheel speed sensor or go and get the ABS code cleared out. The dash lights are not serviceable in a '00 Tahoe. If you was to try & pull the bulb, you would create bigger problems. Like you said, you can pull the ABS fuse but if you do that then you would create bigger problems, too. The only sure-fire way to clear the light is to fix the problem.

Q: I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe- 5.3 and a 06 Silverado with a 5.3 Flex fuel?
I have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe with a 5.3 Liter Engine and I also have a 06 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3 Liter Flex Fuel engine. I noticed that the Tahoe at Freeway speeds sits at about 2,250 RPMs and the Silverado sits at about 1,750 Rpms at the same speed, The Silverado gets about 5 MPG better and was woundering if you think this RPM difference makes the MPG difference?
A: The engines are not truly an apples-apples comparison if you have the following:
1. One thing that would most likely be different is that they may have different sized rear differentials. This, may in part, deal with the RPM difference. I am surprised that your Tahoe has an RPM of 2250. I have a 2002 Tahoe that runs about 2000 at 70mph. It is also a Flex Fuel, but I have never run the E85 fuel.
2. Each car manufacturer seems to get a little better with fuel economy each year although you get better horsepower with the same sized engine.
Not sure this helped, but these have been my observations.
By the way, the flex fuel (E85) seems to be a more expensive way of travelling. I read an article in a magazine that stated you will have to use 40% more fuel because your MPG drops. I also did the math on the lower E85 gas price per gallon and took the 40% decreased MPG into account, it looked like I would pay about 10 cents more per gallon than if I would have used regular gasoline.

A: you have 2 horns on your vehicle , one high note and one low
they are on opposite sides of the front corners of the truck. the right one is easy to replace. look up from under the truck rt. front corner and you will see it. now the left one, well that's another story. there are a couple of ways that we (techs) get to the horn.
the long way which you'll be more comfortable with, is removing the battery, the battery tray, the washer bottle, and low and behold there's the horn.
before you start replacing both horns , did you check the 15amp horn fuse in the under-hood fuse block. if it's blown, replace the fuse, and then see if your horns are working .you might only need one horn, and 9 out of 10 times it's the right side horn that usually collects water and shorts out the circuit. and you can replace it within 5 to 10 minutes.
Q: My 2000 Chevy Tahoe sputters when applying the gas?
I was wondering what this could be? I was thinking something with the Fuel Injectors or spark plugs. I brought it to a mechanic and he is telling me something about the 5-6-7 cylinders are misfiring. He fixed the 6 & 7 and the 5th is still misfiring. He is also telling me it is expensive. HELP!!!!! My check engine light also comes on whenever I let the truck run idle for more than a minute. It is like clockwork. Can't let it warm up or the light comes on.
A: sputtering or misfiring can come from fuel pump, fuel filter, ignition coils or oxygen sensors. With the check engine light coming on it kind of points to the sensors. You can go to autozone and they will hook up a computer for free and tell you what component is causing the engine light to come on.

A: well i wouldn't go and pull anything heavier that a clarissa..but if you there have some of them there re-bootin' knobs you can open the ON-BOARD computer and make it a newer model..so then if you go done there do that you can haul about three of them there clarissa's..durn tootin' you can.
