Q: 1999 Chevy tahoe ignition timing?
ok i have a 1999 chevy tahoe. i replaced the plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor today and it runs but when it is idling it seems like it is stumbling a little. i know that i have the right wire to the right cylinders because when you open up the throttle it is fine it is just at idle. i was wondering if you can move the distributor cap to adjust the timing and if this could be the problem. if anyone can give me any help that would be great. oh... also it wasn't doing this before i made those changes. thanks!
A: Yes you can change the timing but you have to have a scan tool to do it. You have to have the truck idling and watch to see where the cam timing offset is. It should be between -2to2degrees. If it is way out it is possible that the disturber gear is starting apple core(where more on side). To adjust it you loosen the dist. hold down and the rev the engine above 1500 rpm's and let off to see where the timing is at on the scanner and adjust to + or - to get to the -2-+2. I would make sure that the wires are in the right position I know the cap should be numbered for all the cylinders on these caps.

Q: how do you replace 1999 chevy tahoe exterior door handles front?
driver side is broken so i have to replace and im replacing both front handles. i don't know where to start and wat to do please help.
A: remove the door panels, and you can see the rods that connect the lock(if made into the handle) and the handle. Unlatch the plastic clip that holds the rods, and pop them out. There should be 2 nuts holding the assembly on inside the door. The hardest part is trying to see in that part of the door.

i changed the fuel pump and filter and changed the ecm fuses
A: I own a shop, and what I would do is this; Use a multimeter, and start at the tank, and work your way back to the source of the power failure. If you spray some carburetor/choke cleaner into the snorkel, and the engine will start, it rules out many things such as the lock-out. Also; there is a red test wire somewhere around the back of the brake booster, or driver side fender, that is there to test the fuel pump with. Hook power to this wire, and see if it then starts. If so, then you probably have a bad oil pressure switch (sending unit). It is called an oil/fuel pump sending unit, or switch. This should get you going.

I found a tahoe I am intrested in buying. It has a little over 100k miles. What are the most common things that go wrong with these models? Also, does anyone know if there were any recalls for the 99 chevy tahoe?
A: Front hub/bearing assemblies are the first thing that come to mind(about $ 239.00 a piece).Take the VIN to a local GM dealer,they can run a "VIS" on the vehicle to check for open recalls,performed recalls and prior dealer service history.Might just save alot of headaches,and it's free of charge.
Q: I have a problim with my 1999 Chevy Tahoe that seems to stall out and not be abile to start back up...?
For EX last week when i had been running earns all day in 95 degree weather... after two hours of driveing in this heat i got to a stop light and went to take off and it stalled and didn’t want to start back up.. So i then pushed it off the road and let it sit and tried to start it again and it started but it ran really hard and there was a whining coming from the fuel tank.. I called around and had few people tell me 3 different things ranging from fuel pump, cooling system, plugs, fuses, and the computer... so i took it in and the shop sead nothing was wrong it just needed a tune up so i let them do it and $1000.00 later it was running like a champ... 3 days later i was on a road trip with my wife and it staled out doing 85 on the high way i pulled over and now i only drive it when its under 80 out side so has anyone heard of this happening to the Tahoe or any cars?

Q: Hi all car freaks out there can anybody tell me how to remove third break light in a 1999 Chevy Tahoe?
The third break light (its called roofmarker) and its located on the roof in the back above the rear hatch-back. I tried unscrewing the screws on both ends of this light but there was no way i was able to remove it. It looked as if it was stick to the roof but if that was the case then there wont be screws. Please help.
A: Sometimes looks can be deceiving and that rubber seal might have it sealed sometimes over the years this gets sticky and adheres to what ever it is sealing! try pulling on it will probaly release with a little tug! hope this helps!
Q: starting problems with a 1999 chevy tahoe?
I just replaced my fuel pump and I can hear it run and shut off.The problem is it dies right after it starts.Cant seem it find a answer.
It acts like it started but just dies like 2 secs after I let go of the key switch.It wasnt even tring to start before the new pump.Some back firing.

Q: need to know about a 1999 chevy tahoe?
making a terriable noise when i put it into reverse but it still goes in it . makes a noise after i put it in drive to but still goes in it. in reverse it just revs up. just started this morning. never had any trouble with it. also, still drives. it is not a clinking sound or a clunking sound it is like a rev up sound. like it 's not connecting to the gear. but it still goes in it. hard to explain. but would appreciate any help.
