Q: 1995 Chevy Tahoe Starter Relay Location?
My 1995 chevy tahoe tries to start itself. As soon as I connect up the battery, the starter engages - with the key switch off, and the key safely in my pocket. I'm assuming the starter relay is stuck ? I put a new starter in, and it did the same thing. Does anyone know where the starter relay is located ?

A: It is in the fuse/relay center under the hood on the left(driver's) side of the vehicle. Open the cover on the fuse/relay center and there should be a label under the cover to show where the relay is located. Hope this helps

Q: What year transmission is compatible with 1995 chevy tahoe?

A: I would call my local chevy dealers parts dept. They will be able to answer your question. No guessing.Best of luck.

Q: where can I find a replacement drivers seat for a 1995 chevy tahoe?

A: in the company name hoe.

Q: Does anyone know where the starter is located on a 1995 Chevy Tahoe?

A: The same place it's been mounted on every single vehicle with a non-transverse mount reciprocating piston engine since the '40's... on the bell housing! If you can't find that.. please, save yourself a lot of trouble & don't try to work on your own vehicle.

Q: where do I find the thermastat on a 1995 chevy tahoe??
I have looked and cant seem to find it-please help

A: Very simple, as your looking at your engine head on from the front, notice the hose on the top right (your right) that connects to the top of the engine, the thermostat is under the fitting that that hose is attached to. all you need to do is losen the hose clamp and slide the hose off the fitting, remove the two securing bolts on the fitting, gently pry it off of the intake manifold and there it is, a gold colored round object with an odd shaped projection in the middle. >STOP< now before replacing the old one notice which side is towards you! this is VERY important. if installed the wrong way, water will not circulate through the engine when it gets to normal running temp. This will cause severe overheating and major engine dammage. Now, simply scrape the old gasket off of the manifold making sure not to let debris get into the hole, and the flange (contact surface) on the fitting, set one gasket on the manifold, set the new thermostat on top of that IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION, set the second gasket on top of that, carefully set the flange of the fitting on top lining it up the way it was before, and bolt it down and torquing the bolts evenly. Now slide the hose clamp back over the hose enough to be out of the way (I recomend if it is a wire squeeze-type hose clamp that you replace it with the flat stainless band/screw type). now she's ready to rock and roll! Good luck, good wrenching, and hope I could help!

Q: do they make 1995 chevy tahoe in a manaul transmission?
i wanted to buy a tahoe but didnt know they made it with a stick shift

A: No, they did not!!! Rabbit is right.

Q: how do you refill the transmission fluid on 1995 chevy tahoe?

A: As said above, pour it in the dipstick tube. The dipstick is located on the passenger side of the engine, toward the rear of the vehicle. Using a small funnel, you pour the ATF right in the tube where the dipstick goes. Remember to check fluid level with the engine running.

Q: 1995 Chevy tahoe 4 wheel drive question!!?
I finally gave in and I'll be driving a truck forever!!! I have a 1995 chevy tahoe 4 wd-- How do I put it into 4wd?should the truck be in park or neutral? Please offer any other suggestions to a first time female CHEVY truck owner!!

A: 4WD high should be engaged either in drive, park, or neutral, it don't matter, although its a shift on the fly system, I still recommend to people that they stop before engaging the system to reduce the wear on the drive-train components. 4WD low should only be engaged at a complete stop, place transmission in neutral, select 4WD low, place transmission back into desired gear. Unlike what Brian said about going into park when engaging 4WD low, it will not engage in Park, only in neutral.

Q: More detail about my 1995 chevy tahoe?
I was at the emergency room when I left I got to the parking lot security was there waiting on the police. So they already know about it. when they bust out my window they tried to unhook my alarm but I guess it took too long seeing that my alarm was sounding off. So they popped my hood and ripped the horns off the alarm so they can take my music and everything else that was in my truck all the way down to my shades.I think when they snatched the horns off that might have messed up my lights or either the switch that turns my lights on and off they only work with my highg beams on. I hope this is enough detail I know some people wasn't too clear on what I wrote. Thanks again in advance.

A: It is difficult to fix a factory installed alarm if it is not OEM then find an installer of same brand alarm and he will have the correct information than the chevy dealer would use at a better price....some alarms have an overide and the more features then the more complicated to re-boot ---------- the headlight problem is most likely in a hidden relay or shorted wire ...Best advice is take the Tahoer to the dealer and get some new parts ,,so you can avoid any further shorts and have warranty on the dealer work................Wally

Q: 1995 Chevy Tahoe, no rear blinkers, brake, parking, or back up lights?
It's a 1995 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 with a 350. The rear blinkers don't work(fronts do), no rear brake lights(except the 3rd brake light at the top, it still works), no parking lights and no backup lights. Bulbs are fine and I checked all the brake/parking light fuses inside and under the hood. What could be the problem? Please help, I can't drive it at night because I don't want to get a ticket or get run over. There was a ground on the driver side of the trailer hitch that had 2 wires, they were fine but I took them off and cleaned up the rings and the ground point on the hitch, still nothing.

A: Check the ground wire. It is connected to the frame rail or trailer receiver hitch if you have one (mine is on my receiver hitch) on the driver's side with some ring-type terminals and a bolt. Make sure that the wire hasn't corroded and has become disconnected. Since nothing works on both sides, you have to look at what is common between all of the lights, which is the ground.

Q: My 1995 chevy Tahoe is running bad ?
When i go to accelerate it pops and bogs like it wants to kill what is the problem. If you press the gas all the way it will almost die. does anybody have any ideas?

A: Does this occur after the engine has reached operating Temperature or does it do it from the time you start the engine cold?I have a 95 tahoe also that had a similar problem turns out it was the egr valve If you are mechanically inclined you can email me and I can give you detailed instructions on how to determine if this is your problem.

Q: Please help...my 1995 Chevy Tahoe key fob will not work right?
It works when it wants to, but right now it is not working. The light comes on, so I'm guessing it might not be making enough connection to work properly. The doors won't unlock or lock at all. Is there a way to clean the connection up and make it work right without investing in a new one and having to wait for it. That would be a couple of days and I need to be able to use my truck now. The battery is new and when the door is opened manually the alarm automatically goes off until it's disarmed with the key fob.

A: Open the fob and clean the button contacts. Open it just like you were going to replace the battery. While separated, push on the buttons to push the circuit board and rubber button mold out of the plastic housing. Clean the points where the buttons touch the circuit board (the areas will look dirtier than the rest) with a rag or your shirt. Also rub the back of the buttons. Then snap it all back together.

Q: where can I download a repair manual for a 1995 chevy tahoe? Emmission manual?

A: You Can't download a manual in the internet, but still you can order them

Q: How do you set the timing on a 1995 Chevy Tahoe 350cu.in.?
It has a lot of miles on it but runs very well, the only problem is it knocks some with 87 octane gas, if I run it with 93 octane, it is smoother and quieter. Someone told me timing was off. I am pretty mechanically inclined, but just recently started tinkering with cars, is timing something a novice can do?

A: The Wire you disconnect is behind or underneath the glove box....It is a brown single wire and connector...You unplug that wire and set your ignition timing to Zero.... You do this by hooking your timing light up to the number one spark plug wire...Then you loosen the distributor and turn it little by little until you get it to the zero mark...The number one plug wire is the front of the engine on the drivers side... good luck

Q: Does anyone know if they make torsion bar keys for 1995 Chevy Tahoe 4x4s?

A: Yes, I beleive they do. But, you really need to talk to some of the guys over @ To make sure where & how they work. Back when I had the torsion bar cracked on my '91 Silverado Z71. Becuz, the new BFGoodrich T/A 285/75-16 tires were rubbin alill in deep turns. I took it to the frontend shop. Plus, the front was alill unlevel w/ the drivers side being alill lower than the pass. side. So, the alignment stayed good, once the crackin was done. Which is a necessity after you crack on the torsion bars. As the crackin will effect the alignment of the frontend. Good luck!
