Q: Where can I get a good reasonable mechanic to put an engine put in a 1997 Chevy Tahoe?
It has 208,000 miles and we don't want a new car payment. Blown head gasket. 1997 Chevy Tahoe 2wd. I live in Georgia.
A: my idea would be going straight to mexico cause mechanics are cheap there and do a really good job, but not the mexicans, the menonites are which ones i'm talking about, hope this helps

A: If the brake pedal is "messed up" it is most likely NOT an A.B.S. problem but a primary brake system problem triggering the malfunction light of the A.B.S. Any reputable repair shop can diagnose and solve this for you . Dealer is not a requirement with any vehicle, unless you are still under warranty.
Q: Need to know how to disarm a 1995 Chevy Tahoe alarm?
I have a 1995 Chevy Tahoe 4 Door 4-Wheel Drive v8 5.7lt. I bought it used and it didnt come with a key less entry controller. Today i went to start it and the alarm went off ( i didnt even know it had an alarm) Now i cant turn it off and cant start the truck. Any idea on how to disarm it?
A: I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe ( the same body style as the '95 ) and mine doesn't have an alarm? This alarm you speak of has to be an after market alarm and NEEDS the key less entry controller. You first need to know what brand alarm you have.

I have 3 tire rims from a Chevy tahoe. I want to list them on ebay, but I don't know which vehicles they will fit. What kinds of cars will these fit?
A: They will pretty much fit any other 1/2 ton Chevy or GMC truck. The important fact is weather or not its a 2x or 4x. The 2x has 5 bolts and will also fit most of the full size rear wheel drive GM cars stating about in the 70's. The 4x has 6 bolts and fits most 4x4 1/2 ton chevy and GMC trucks. Gm also used that bolt pattern in the 40's on some cars.

just bought a 99 chevy tahoe, 4x4, 4 door, where it the fuse box on the inside of the cab?
A: Fuse block is on driver's side of the dash. Open door, and you will see a small removable panel. The door chime/flasher unit/ and some relays are located under the dash on the driver's side just to the left of the brake pedal.
Inside the engine compartment, there is a black box on the driver's side on the fender, that houses larger relays, like the ones for your A/C and fuel pump ect. Also some fuses, and 2 AUX fuses that you can tap (30A max) for whatever you want.

Im replacing the tail lights and the corner lights of my 97 chevy tahoe, I can't seem to find any "do it yourself" guides, and please don't tell me to take my car into a auto body shop :P
A: Open up the back tail gate, Look behind the light cluster, there are little hole covers that look like black rubber circles that pop out, under those are the screws..make sure you use a magnetic screwdriver!!! They're pretty easy once you find those hole covers, just unscrew, disconnect old cluster and plug in new...

A: My Tahoe seats 7. 2 in front, 2 in middle and a bench seat in the back. The back seat is actually two seats that can be removed, but installed it sets together. The middle seats can be folded down. I love it and it has plenty of room. You can by a model that has 2 bench seats and this would accommodate 8 people. Go the the local dealership, act like you want to buy one, drive it and make you own opinion.

Q: 1995 Chevy Tahoe rear Window and Tailgate Latch not working?
I have a 1995 full size Chevy Tahoe with the standard lower tailgate with upper window setup in the rear. Normally you turn the key in the tailgate lock to open the window, then lift the handle to unlatch and drop the tailgate. These days however, the key just spins in the lock cylinder and the window does not unlock and therefore neither does the tailgate. Does anybody have any ideas on how to get this open other than a crowbar and dynamite? Is there any way of removing the inside trim panel on the tailgate while it is closed and the window is in place ? Any help would be appreciated.
A: yeah that happened to me. remove the trim on the inside of the back tailgate. then you can stick your key in there, turn it around and see what's going on at the same time
Q: Radio lights on my 96 Chevy Tahoe are not working. How do I fix it?
The radio and cd lights on my 96 Chevy Tahoe are not working. I've replaced the radio because I thought the bulbs were burned out. I checked the fuses and those were fine. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
A: if you've replaced them hoping to fix the problem, then the issue is in the wiring harness. There's a wire that goes from the light switch over to the plug in the back of the radio, and that's got a break in it somewhere more than likely. The way to check is to locate the wire-both in the plug that goes to the back of the radio and at the light switch(this sounds tough, but it's really not- to take the dash apart is pretty simple, just pull on it(but not too far or hard-you've got to unplug a few things as you pull it away like the electronic 4x4 switch(if equipped) and the headlight switch). take the two screws that hold the radio loose and pull the chassis of the radio out and unplug it. Now the tough part..but I'll tell you how to cheat- go to a car audio store and see if you can look at a wiring harness adapter for your vehicle and if at all possible look to see what wire is marked "illumination". Locate that wires position in the aftermarket plug, and you'll be able to locate it in the plug in your vehicle. That should give you the color of the wire coming out of the plug. Now, go over to the other side of the dash where the headlight switch is located and find the same color wire in that plug. With a continuety tester, test both ends to see if its continuous...if so most testers will either light up or beep(depending on the tester)..if not, you'll have to splice in a new wire.

I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe, and on the ceiling just over the driver's seat is what appears to be a small 2" speaker. When I first start the car, I get a buzzing engine sound coming from it. Is this in fact a speaker, or what the heck is it, and what does it do?
A: It is not a speaker. It is a inside air temp sensor and the buzzing you hear from it is a motor that is pushing air across it. You have to replace it to fix the problem. It is really easy to do this too. Just remove the trim and gently pull the headliner down just enough to push the old one out and install the new one in. Be careful as if you crease the headliner, it is permanent. Good luck.

A: Chevy truck grilles should be interchangeable from 1988-1998. There are just two different styles. If you want one that looks like your original grill look for the years 1994-1998. If you want the old style, look for 1988-1993 grilles.

A: The tires shouldn't stick further than each other front to back unless you have a newer Chevy with rear steering
