Q: How many gallons does it take to fill a 2003 Chevy Suburban?
so a full tank of gas can get me 350 miles?
A: the 1500 takes 32.5 gal and the 2500 takes 38.5 gal
Q: 2003 Chevy Suburban air conditioning problem?
the air conditioner in my 2003 suburban seems to be blowing lower when I'm either stopped or moving slow, as compared to when I'm rolling at a higher rate of speed. Is this something I can fix myself?
A: It could be designed that way, when you're moving fast you get much more cooling capacity since the compressor is really spinning. At low speeds it can't keep up so the fan blows slower.
Q: Oil Pressure Gauge jumps to Max (80 PSI) on a 2003 Chevy Suburban?
This occurs when turning the ignition to on or when turning on the engine. Pressure stays at 80 while driving. Is this a bad pressure sender unit or something else? The car seems to be running fine.
A: sounds like a bad oil sending unit
Q: service ride control on 2003 chevy suburban LT?
we got the oil changed on our car and after that the service ride control light or sensor came on, it may or may not have anything to do with the oil bn changed but thats when it came on. does anyone know what it means? i read that its proly the suspension. i had my mechanic look at it he said not to worry as long as i dont tow anything. is this a costly thing?
A: The vehicle has to be scanned for suspension codes in order to properly help you with the diagnosis.
Could be as simple as an open fuse for the compressor.
bad compressor(very common)
bad front shock solenoid connector (very common)
reprograming the RTD module.
So it's imperative to retrieve the code for proper diagnosis, and if any one tries to diagnose without knowing the code they're just guessing.
Q: my daughter put some fuel injection cleaner in her 2003 Chevy suburban, after that her SUV shutdown.. ?
It won't crank or anything. She said the lights work.
MY question is, would that mess it up?
A: Unless she poured it somewhere other than the gas tank, it would not cause that problem. Have the battery tested or check the cables. The lights will come on, but there may not be enough cranking amps left to start the car. Turn on the headlights and try cranking the car, if they dim the starter is trying to engage. If they don't the problem is elsewhere, ignition switch, neutral safety switch for starters.
Q: 2003 Chevy Suburban has a humming type of noise.?
My suburban seems to have a noise when rolling, that I thought was the transmission. But today I put it in Neutral while rolling on the highway, and the noise was still there. I have 135,000 miles, and I don't recall having the U-joints greased before, so now I'm thinking it could be that. The faster I'm rolling, the more defined the humming gets. I first noticed it when I was coasting to slow down, and now I notice it all the time. Any ideas as to what this could be?
A: could be a few things, hub bearings, road noise from your tires, not to much u joints but could be. um theres is a few things i check for but i would need you to explain a bit more so
Q: 2003 Chevy Suburban - Trans fluid?
Does anyone know if this is one of those 100K before changing fluid? Also, if the dealer says the fluid is dark, what is that mean in terms of possible cause? It has 44K miles on it.
Thanks.
A: In most vehicles with automatic transmissions, the fluid does get dark. I have seen it almost black. Most owner manuals recommend changing around 35,000 to 50,000. Unless you have a shifting problem then there shouldn't be much concern. I would recommend a second opinion from an independent mechanic shop. It could be time for a change. It never hurts to change the fluid on a regular basis.
However, if it is one of those 100k things it would be to your advantage to change it before then to be on the safe side. Unless changing it before then would void the warranty. 35k to 40k is just about the right time for the color change.

Q: does anyone know anything about a Chevy suburban 2003? It shutdown on me, while i was driving it.?
A: Well from what it sounds like just off the info you gave. Because you did not say if it started back up or not. My guess would be a drained battery. Which could also mean your alternator went out. So check out those two see if it helps.
Q: What subwoofers are better for my Chevy Suburban 2003?
MTX JackHammer Dual 12" Subwoofers in Vented Enclosure or
Kicker CompVR 12" Subwoofers/Enclosure Package
here are the links for both
mtx= http://www.circuitcity.com/rpsm/oid/192804/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
kicker= http://www.circuitcity.com/rpsm/oid/172946/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
please explain why the one you chose is better or why i should get it
A: This is kind of funny because I had both of them systems in my '88 suburban. Both of them were loud. The mtx had a much deeper punch to it, but the kickers had a nice mid range punch with a little bit more sound quality. I personally liked the kicker. Hope I could help.
Revised : The guy above me does not know what he is talking about. I had two JL-W3v2 which was 300 rms a peice in my suburban and that was ear shattering because of the amount of space that I had in the vehicle
Q: Chevy Suburban trouble; what can it be?
2003 Suburban; Experiencing a strange popping/crackling noise when moving in drive. Slow or fast, it can appear at anytime. At times it's like the old playing card in the spokes on a bike sound, increasing with speed, but only for a few seconds, then it goes away. Other times it's a single crackle sound when moving at 5-10 mph. To describe the sound is difficult. It reminds me of the snap/crackle/pop of rice crispies; just a low volume crackle sound. I've been told to check the U-joint for lubing, and I've been told it could be my rear end (ouch). Has anyone ever heard of this before?
A: I would check ujoints. or is the sound crackling like bacon frying?? if so its probably a/c condensant driping water on the exhaust thats what mine does>>
