Q: Does anyone have a repair manual for a 92 Chevy Suburban?
I have a 92 chevy suburban with headlight problems. I flip the switch and the lights will not come on. The dashboard and parking lights work, and I have checked all the fuses as well as the wiring to the relays to make sure nothing is melted (fried). I don't have the money to take it to a car shop and have it looked at. This is my only vehicle.

A: Headlights don't use fuses. It's a circuit breaker in the light switch. Buy a 12-volt test light, check if the headlamps are getting power, and if not, work your way back through the circuit, including the relay. http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/08/51/2f/0900823d8008512f.jsp http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/08/79/51/0900823d80087951/repairInfoPages.htm Here's a Suburban forum you could check out. Q: Why does my 1993 chevy suburban ABS break light as well as parking light come on after i changed the front...?
Why does my 1993 chevy suburban ABS break light as well as parking light come on after i changed the front break pads?

A: if you pushed the piston back in the caliper without loosening the bleeder valve it pushed back pressure on the system and that will cause both lights to come on,you may also notice it not stopping as well as it did before,to fix this you may have to bleed the front brakes out,id also make sure i didn't knock any of the sensor wires off in the front or damage any of the wires for the front sensors, good luck with it.

Q: How to find seat color of '06 Chevy Suburban?
To order a 4th row seat for a Suburban, I need to find out which of the grays mine is: Medium Dark Pewter Medium Gray Dark Gray http://littleseats.com/chevy_suburban_yukon_xl.htm The outside is dark gray. Is there a way to use the VIN to find out?

A: In the glove box there should be a white tag with black print. It will have the VIN number and a series of codes 3 characters each. At the bottom of the codes are the trim codes. You will need to talk to a dealership parts person and have them help you locate the interior color code. (these codes are called RPO codes) The dealer parts dept. can also use your VIN number to look up your original build data through their Vehicle Identification System. Even if it wasn't bought there if fact any GM dealer can do it.

Q: What is the towing capacity for a 94 Chevy Suburban 2500 4wd?
I need to move an old shed that is on a trailer weighing right around 7500lbs. to a new location approx. 800 miles away from California to Washington. There will only be one person in the car with some tools to set up the shed at its new location. Am I nuts for thinking I can tow it with my suburban and is it legal? Is it safe?

A: check your hitch and trailer tires for maximums, maybe, maybe not. Don't forget to add the trailer weight and you better have trailer brakes. Whatever you do, don't use OD. and check all tires before leaving. Dont go over 55 mph...

Q: I have a 1994 Chevy Suburban, I need a stereo for it. Is an Eclipse CD3414 stereo compatible with it?
If not what would work in my suburban? I currently don't have a stereo in it. I got it that way.

A: Go to Crutchfield.com and check them out. They sell car stereos and everything for them. They have good prices, quick delivery, and very helpful Reps. They will set you up with a new stereo and also give you a free installation kit with most stereos and installation instructions for your specific vehicle. If you ever have a problem with it that you need an answer to, just call them up and they will help you out. I have bought several stereos through them and have always been very satisfied with their service.

Q: 94 chevy suburban air conditioner not working?
94 Chevy suburban have a lack of refrigerant flow in the air conditioner cannot find a blockage any thoughts? have checked all hoses for blockages not sure what else to check were exactly is the expansion valve i was told there was not one. Also High and low side pressure stay constant even with compressor off

A: The pressure will equalize on the high and low sides if the compressor is not running. Sounds like you just have a low freon charge (which also means you have a leak somewhere).

Q: 1998 Chevy Suburban - when steering left, wheel does not return to it's original position. Any ideas why?
Usually, the steering wheel returns when you steer left or right. Now, however, if I turn left, and take my hand off the wheel, the car will literally just go in circles until I move the wheel back to the upright position.

A: Check if the steering pump is working correctly, check fluid and belt.

Q: Where should I take my 1995 Chevy Suburban to have wiring work done?
My parking light fuse keeps blowing and I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but I can't find the problem. So, who should I take it to to get it fixed? Does it have to go to a dealer?

A: Find a shop with a "Short Finder" it is a tool which will send a pulse through the wire to the location of the short circuit. this pulse can be followed right to the location of the short by using a hand held sensor. That circuit could take hours and hours to check by hand and the finder can do it in minutes - but the short must be present - that is to say if you put in a fuse with the lights on the fuse must blow immediately for the short finder to work. If the problem is intermittent I recommend that you purchase a plug in circuit breaker and replace the fuse with it, when the breaker starts cycling continuously then it is time to head for the shop.
